Medicare coverage
Medicare Part B covers the seat-lift mechanism (the motorized lifting component) when prescribed for a qualifying condition — you pay about 20% of that portion. The chair/furniture itself is private pay. We bill Medicare for the covered part and make the rest simple.
What Medicare typically requires: A physician order plus form CMS-846 documenting severe hip/knee arthritis or neuromuscular disease and inability to stand from a regular chair. Medicare covers only the lift mechanism. See CGS Medicare coverage rules.
What it might cost
Medicare: Medicare covers this for qualifying patients (often as a rental); you pay about 20% of the approved amount after your deductible. We verify eligibility and bill Medicare.
