Choosing a power lift recliner
Sizes, positions, and what to look for in a lift chair.
What a lift chair does
A power lift recliner gently tilts forward to help you stand up, and reclines back for rest — a comfortable recliner and a safe standing aid in one.
2-position, 3-position, or infinite?
Two-position chairs recline a little (great for TV); three-position chairs recline nearly flat; infinite-position and zero-gravity chairs move the back and footrest independently for the most comfort and easy napping.
Size it to the person
Lift chairs come in petite, standard, tall, and bariatric sizes. The right seat height, depth, and width matter for both comfort and a safe, easy lift.
Is it covered?
Medicare covers the lift mechanism of a lift chair when it's medically necessary — the chair and upholstery are your cost. We verify and tell you exactly what you'll owe.
