Does Medicare cover a nebulizer?
Yes — Medicare Part B covers a nebulizer (the compressor) and the inhalation medication when you have a respiratory condition that requires a nebulized treatment, with your provider's order.
What's included
The compressor comes with tubing and a mask or mouthpiece and medication cups; the covered inhalation drug is billed separately. Portable, battery-powered nebulizers are available if you're often on the go.
How to qualify
Your provider documents the diagnosis and the specific medication that needs to be nebulized. We coordinate the order and verify your coverage first.
What it costs
Medicare pays 80% after your deductible and you owe 20%; a secondary or supplemental plan usually covers that 20%. Private pay is available.
