How to choose the right brace

Knee, ankle, back, wrist & drop-foot braces — a simple guide.

Start with the joint and the goal

Braces do different jobs: stabilize a loose joint, offload a painful area, limit motion while something heals, or support a weak muscle. Match the brace to your diagnosis and what your provider recommends.

Off-the-shelf or custom-fit?

Many braces are ready-to-wear; others are custom-fit for the right support and coverage. Custom-fit braces usually need measurements and sometimes a fitting — we handle both.

A quick guide by body part

Knee: from simple sleeves to hinged braces for ligament or bone-on-bone support. Ankle: lace-up or rigid for sprains and instability. Back: lumbar support for stenosis or after surgery. Wrist/thumb: for tendonitis or carpal tunnel. Drop foot: an AFO that lifts the foot for safer walking.

Fit makes or breaks it

Too loose won't support; too tight can do harm. We size and fit you so the brace actually does its job.

Is it covered?

Many braces are covered equipment with a provider's order — off-the-shelf vs custom-fit affects the details. We verify and handle the paperwork. Browse braces or call us 24/7.
