What a CGM does
A continuous glucose monitor reads your glucose through a small sensor and sends it to a reader or your phone, with trends and alerts — far more useful than a single fingerstick number.
The main systems
Dexcom (G7): real-time readings and alerts to your phone or a receiver. FreeStyle Libre (3 / 3 Plus): a small, long-wear sensor with strong value. Eversense: an implanted sensor that can last up to six months. Your provider and plan often point to the best fit.
